Terms and Conditions

When making a booking with McMotorhome Hire I agree that I have thoroughly read and understood the Terms and Conditions of hire.

The Terms and Conditions as stated within supersede all previous versions whether online, printed format or any other format/method.

BOOKINGS
Booking can be made by telephone or online. Bookings will be held for up to 2 days until a deposit is received.

A £250 deposit is required to secure a booking. This amount will be deducted from the remaining hire balance.

If the collection date is less than 4 weeks from booking then the full balance is due. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to collection.

Once payment is received a confirmation email will be sent to the hirer. A security/damages deposit of £750 is due prior to commencement of hire. This will be held on a credit/debit card and fully refunded a maximum of 7 days after your return date, subject to a satisfactory vehicle inspection. However, if quotes need to be obtained for damage or replacement parts caused by the hirer this may take up to 14 days.

CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations must be in writing. All deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable to another date, at our discretion. All monies due and received within 4 weeks of commencement of hire are non-refundable.
McMotorhome Hire reserves the right to cancel hire if, at the commencement of hire, the named drivers’ licences are invalid or do not comply with information previously given. In these circumstances, the total hire charge will be forfeited.

Hirers are advised to insure against unavoidable cancellations.

COLLECTION AND RETURNING OF VEHICLE
It is essential that the hirer should be given a thorough introduction to the rental vehicle therefore please allow up to 1 hour for your handover.

Since the times for collecting and returning our Motorhome is carefully planned, please return your Motorhome at the agreed time. A penalty of £20 per hour is payable from the security/damages deposit for the time between the expiry of the rental agreement and the return of your vehicle (maximum penalty is a daily rental charge). Should the late return of your vehicle make us liable for extra costs (e.g. compensation for the next hirer), we reserve the right to pass these costs onto the hirer.

If a Motorhome previously booked by the hirer is not available due to accident, theft or any other reason we will try to offer you a suitable alternative Motorhome. This will be of similar size to the Motorhome requested and will be similarly equipped. If this is not possible we will refund all monies paid immediately, McMotorhome Hire will not be liable for any additional monies paid for campsites, ferry charges etc.

PERIOD OF HIRE
The times and dates of the contract of hire must be strictly adhered to. No refund will be given for early return of the Motorhome.

DRIVING LICENCES

Driver/s must be over 25 years and under 75 years of age and have held a full driving licence for a least 2 years.

Driver/s licence/s must have no more than 3 penalty points and must be produced prior to collection of the Motorhome.

Two forms of identification must be produced by all hirers prior to the start of the hire period, in addition to the full driving licences of all named drivers. Other forms of identification include utility bills, passports, or if that is not possible, a government ID card or bank statement. Driver/s will be required to provide relevant information to allow McMotorhome Hire to complete a licence check before the commencement of hire.

INSURANCE
Fully comprehensive insurance is included within the hire charge. The vehicle is insured for the period of hire contracted only. Hirers are advised to take out additional personal holiday insurance. A £750 excess is payable by the hirer in the event of a claim. The hirer must pay a security deposit prior to the collection of the Motorhome. The security deposit will be refunded a maximum of 2 days after the vehicle has been returned in a satisfactory condition.

CLAIMS
In the unfortunate event of an accident or damage occurring to our Motorhome, the hirer is requested to notify us immediately. You must also send photographs of all damage that’s occurred to the Motorhome.

It’s imperative our insurance company is notified of any potential claim within 48 hours. We need to assess the extent of the damage and decide if we will be making a claim on the insurance. If we are not notified of all damage we will lose the right to make an insurance claim. In this instance, the hirer will be liable for all damages.

In the event of more than one claim being presented, the hirer accepts that they are liable to pay the excess amount for each and every incident.

BREAKDOWNS
In the unlikely event of a breakdown, McMotorhome Hire requests that they are contacted immediately and when advised to do so, the hirer seeks the help of our registered breakdown company only, quoting the registration number of the vehicle.
